id Software Wants You To Choose The DOOM Cover Art

Bethesda and id Software want you to pick the cover for Doom.

Doom‘s publisher Bethesda has just posted two large pieces of art on its official @DOOM account on Twitter soliciting fans of the first-person shooter series which one they prefer to see on the cover of the upcoming game. id Software made both the images.

The first of the images somewhat resembles the cover of Diablo. It’s got a demonic goat’s skull with red eyes shaded in grey and black set on an even darker grey and black background. The back of the box (on the left) has a demonic symbol in red, somewhat resembling the kind of pentagram sign you might find painted in blood at a satanic alter in some cheesy horror movie.

The second piece of art, which is my favorite, is a modern recreation of the original Doom box cover artwork and poster art that so many of us who grew up playing Doom will instantly recognize. I feel a sense of nostalgia just looking at it. Hell, just look at it:

The game is slated to run at 60FPS/1080P across both console platforms. It will include both a single-player campaign and a host of multiplayer modes.
