Metal Gear Survive Walkthrough | Chapter 20 - Kill Wanderer Seth

The first real Metal Gear Survive boss fight is here. Better late than never, right?

Wanderer Seth is a real, honest-to-god boss!

The plot thickens in Chapter 20 of Metal Gear Survive — we finally know who betrayed the Charon Corps. It wasn’t from within after all; Seth, the Mother Base castaway, was possessed by the Lord of Dust to do its dirty work. The gigantic super-being isn’t as dumb as it looks. As an amalgamation of medical nanomachines and crystallized flesh, it’s a dangerous adversary. And it wants to end your world next.

First step to stop the Lord of Dust? We’re going to have to kill Seth. Of course it isn’t enough to shoot him in a cutscene. Seth transforms into a hulking boss monster that rampages through your Base Camp with a powerful shotgun blast attack. Don’t go too crazy with your firearms because you can totally harm your valuable base structures. The final battle versus the Lord of Dust isn’t too far away.

Objective: Defeat Wanderer Seth

Travel back to Base Camp to confront Seth. A few bullets aren’t enough to take him down – Reeve might shoot Seth in the head after he betrayed the team and took Chris, revealing himself to be a double agent for the Lord of Dust, but Seth won’t go down without a fight.

NOTE: Before travelling back, equip yourself with ammo and a gun. Any gun will do – the S1000 is a great choice for this fight, and a full compliment of ammo is enough to take Seth down.

When Seth transforms, he’ll gain several powerful attacks. When he raises his arm, he’ll fire a shotgun blast of energy. He’ll also lunge at you with a strong melee attack. Dive behind the equipment in the center of your base – it can’t be destroyed, so you’re safe hiding behind the terminals and consoles.

Wait for your chance, then step out of cover and blast him in the head or on the weak point on his back. Guns are especially effective against these weak spots – if you hit the back weakpoint, Seth will stumble, giving you time to shoot him a few more times.

Take your time and hide when you can. Be patient, shoot him when he’s vulnerable, and Seth will go down. If you need more ammo, go check the Transporter outposts in the FOB map for extra gunpowder, copper, and lead.
